DESCRIPTION:New this Fall: We’ll be giving away a $50 gift card to one lucky participant! (Board members excluded\, one entry per person) Just show up and help and Judy will grab your name and put it in the hat for a drawing at the end of the cleanup. You don’t need to be present at the time of drawing to win. \nThe Fall cleanup will start at 9 AM on Nov. 4th — if the weather is not favorable we’ll try the following Saturday. \nBring your work gloves and look for Gary Yuen for some directions on what we will be working on. If you have some lopers\, pruners\, or a chainsaw\, please bring them! \nWe’ll provide some snacks/drinks during the cleanup.

SUMMARY:Park Master Plan Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the south end of the park to see the presentation of our park maintenance and master plan by the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum (NSA). The board will provide coffee/donuts and a scavenger hunt for the kids. Please bring some chairs or blankets to sit on. If the weather doesn’t cooperate\, we’ll post a notice here and try the following Saturday. \nEarlier this summer\, we hired the NSA to review our park’s plantings and give us some advice on what we can do to maintain it in the future (see Site Analysis). The NSA has completed a tree survey of all the tree species\, sent out a neighborhood survey to get feedback from neighbors\, and developed recommendations for how to maintain our park. \nThe board has been meeting frequently with the NSA folks and we are excited to share this plan with you. The plan will incorporate neighbors’ feedback from the survey and consider how to rejuvenate some of our beds in a way that we can afford to maintain them well while keeping the layout and landscaping of the original design. The plan will be reviewed by the board and implemented incrementally to further evaluate the effectiveness of the ideas. We’ll continue to welcome your feedback as we continue to improve our park and how we maintain it. \nAgenda \n\nIntroductions and description of the master plan process\nPresentations of the master plan\n\nHistorical documentation\nExisting conditions\nFuture planting and maintenance recommendations\n\n\nQuestions for clarity are welcome during the presentation\, but longer discussions will be tabled until the end\n\nWe hope we all will learn some things to apply to our own yards\, so\, please come and share in this learning experience with us.
